Spare Pool
As minimising user downtime is the primary goal for any organisation implementing a 1:1 program. In our experience, we have found the use of a “spare pool” to be the most effective way of ensuring as little disruption as possible to teachers and students.
Under this program the school purchases additional MacBooks and place these in a “spare pool”. If a MacBook were to fail (hardware failure), then a MacBook from the spare pool (that has the SOE already pre-loaded) can be exchanged for the defective MacBook. Then only the user’s critical data needs to be transferred between MacBooks. We recommend the purchase of two MacBook for the spare pool per one hundred being used by students. |

Provision for 3 year onsite warranty is included in the pricing schedule for the equipment. |
